This project is in the heart of Tonypandy where Beacon acquired the old co-op supermarket site on Dunraven Street as part of our regeneration plans for the area. The project will create an exciting mixed-use space which improves the area and provides local people with a vibrant town centre location to be proud of.
We hope this development will stimulate economic activity within the town, help create more jobs, and provide much needed homes. Our aim is to complement what is already in the town, to work with our local business partners and communities to create a place that our future generations will be proud of.
This development includes residential apartments off Bridge Street along with a Convenience Store, Bistro and office space on Dunraven Street, which will complement our existing commercial premises on Dunraven Street which is let to Peacocks.
This is just one of three regeneration projects we have in Tonypandy town centre. Our Community Hub called the Little Shed is also located on Dunraven Street, where thirty young people from Maes Gwyn, Ysgol Nant Gwyn and Ferndale Community School helped work on the space with Arc Training Company. The Little Shed provides a hub for our food parcel project, community fridges, offers health and wellbeing plus digital sessions, and a safe space for themed coffee mornings.
