As part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Kingsway in Swansea, Beacon partnered with the local council and Welsh Government to help deliver their green infrastructure objectives and bring the first green walls to Swansea. Thanks to Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Grant and Green Infrastructure Grant.
Green walls (also known as plant walls, living walls or vertical gardens) incorporate nature into urban environments and can benefit the area by improving air quality in the city, improving urban biodiversity and reducing and absorbing noise levels from city centre traffic.
Beacon is now embarking on the second part of the scheme to turn the interior in to office spaces, bringing new local job opportunities. The scheme is being designed to accommodate single or multiple office occupiers in circa 860m2 (net internal area) and will include basement parking and usable roof top spaces with views to Mumbles. You can find out more about renting of spaces here.
