This project is in the heart of Tonypandy where Beacon acquired the old co-op supermarket site on Dunraven Street as part of our regeneration plans for the area. The project has created an exciting mixed-use space which improves the area and provides local people with a vibrant town centre location to be proud of.

We hope this development will stimulate economic activity within the town, help create more jobs, and provide much needed homes. Our aim is to complement what is already in the town, to work with our local business partners and communities to create a place that our future generations will be proud of.

Beacon’s flagship £13 million landmark development has delivered 51 modern, energy-efficient apartments, including specialist homes designed to support adults with additional learning needs, alongside flexible 3 commercial spaces that will encourage new businesses, creating employment opportunities and bringing renewed energy to the town centre.

At the heart of this regeneration is our commitment to delivering meaningful social value and creating positive environmental, social and economic outcomes. Find out more:

This development includes residential apartments off Bridge Street along with a Convenience Store, Bistro and office space on Dunraven Street, which will complement our existing commercial premises on Dunraven Street which is let to Peacocks.

This is just one of three regeneration projects we have in Tonypandy town centre. Including a volunteer led Community Hub called the Little Shed which is also located on Dunraven Street, where thirty young people from Maes Gwyn, Ysgol Nant Gwyn and Ferndale Community School created this space with Arc Training Company and developed skills for their future careers. The Little Shed provides a hub for essential community fridges, health and wellbeing sessions, partnership support groups and a safe space for themed coffee mornings.
